Baton Rouge, LA (June 1, 2023) – South PAC, a political action committee of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), announced the endorsement of Kim Carver for House District 89, the first in a wave of early endorsements set to be released later this month.
“Since South PAC was created, our members have strived to ensure the business community supports candidates who understand our needs when critical legislation is considered, and impactful decisions are being made,” said South PAC Chairwoman Maura Donahue. “As an active LABI board member and chairman of LABI’s education and workforce development council, Kim Carver has been on the frontlines with LABI, fighting for education reform and many other key reforms that we need to make Louisiana a better place to live and work.” South PAC is made up of businessmen and businesswomen seeking to support electable candidates who embrace free-market principles and stand ready to implement real reforms to grow our economy and keep our families here. “This fall, Louisiana has the opportunity of a generation to elect reform-minded leaders up and down the ballot who stand ready to implement pro-business policy,” said Andree Miller, LABI’s political director. “As we continue to work on our LA23 strategic plan to position Louisiana as an economic leader in the South by the year 2030, we are confident that Kim is the candidate who will champion these reforms and help write a new chapter in our state’s future.” As an engineer, Kim was trained to solve problems and, with over a decade of experience as a bank executive, he knows how business works. Carver has been active in shaping policy outside the rails through his work with the Northshore Business Council, as a member of LABI and most recently, as chairman of LABI’s education and workforce development council. Carver lives in Mandeville with his wife Kristyn and their three daughters. The Carver Family attends First Baptist Church in Covington, where Kim serves as a deacon and teaches Sunday School. Additionally, Carver has been named the 2022 Alumnus of the Year for Leadership St. Tammany and a 2023 Champion for Children by Hope House. “I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement from the local job creators and business leaders of LABI’s South PAC,” said Carver. “Our work together to improve outcomes in our state is among the most impactful and meaningful of my professional career, but we all know the next chapter is the most important. For our future generations to be able to call Louisiana home, we must enact historic reforms and open the door to more opportunities. Whether sorting out our insurance mess, bringing in new businesses, or boosting the quality of education for our kids—each challenge demands a lawmaker who can roll up their sleeves from the get-go, ready to lead and make a difference for the families of District 89.”
