LABI Announces Staff Additions, Departures

November 16, 2022

Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) has announced several changes to the organization’s staff. Andree Miller has taken on the role of LABI’s Political Director, and—starting this week—Brian Davis will serve as Director of Education and Small Business. Previously, Miller was Vice President at Bold Strategies in Baton Rouge, and she also has worked on Capitol Hill, as well as with St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Davis has served as the director for both the House and Senate Republican Legislative Delegation, and prior to that worked for Americans for Prosperity, Representative Rick Edmonds and 3 Strategies, LLC.

“Having the opportunity to join the team at LABI is an honor,” said Miller. “Whether it is the dedicated staff or the passionate engagement of its members, LABI is the respected voice of pro-business policy at the legislature. I am thrilled to be working alongside the incredible talent that makes this organization, especially looking ahead to the momentous opportunities of the upcoming 2023 election cycle.”

“LABI is an organization I have always thought highly of,” said Davis. “I’m thrilled to join the team officially, and I look forward to serving businesses all over Louisiana.”

Miller replaces Bo Staples, who is now the Director of Regulatory and Political Affairs for Nextera Energy. Lauren Gleason—previously the Director of Education, Workforce Development and Healthcare—has assumed the role of Vice President of External Affairs for UnitedHealth Group.

“We wish Bo and Lauren the very best in their future endeavors, and we are excited to welcome Andree and Brian to the LABI family,” said LABI President and CEO Stephen Waguespack. “We look forward to working with them at the Capitol and beyond.”

Other staffing changes include:

  • Lauren Hadden, LABI’s Director Civil Justice, Energy and Environmental Quality Councils and Judicial Program, will assume the new title of General Counsel and add Director of Healthcare to her current duties.
  • Mary Beth Hughes will now serve as Director of Technology in addition to her current role as Communications Manager.
