LABI’s South PAC Announces Slate of Early Endorsements

Baton Rouge, La. (June 6, 2023) – South PAC, a political action committee of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), today announced early endorsements in key races in the South PAC region. South PAC has endorsed Beth Billings (House District 56), Stephanie Berault (House District 76) and Jay Galle (House District 104) for the legislative election this fall.

“The members of South PAC are proud to endorse these leaders as they seek to serve our state in the legislature,” said South PAC Chairwoman Maura Donahue. “We are confident that this group of candidates stand ready to make tough votes to advance reforms for our state, and we encourage voters to support these candidates as we continue the challenge of improving economic opportunity for Louisiana.”

Beth Billings is seeking to fill the House District 56 seat being vacated by term-limited Rep. Greg Miller (R-Norco). She is a former small business owner and is currently Councilwoman at Large, Div. A on the St. Charles Parish Council where she serves as Chairwoman. Beth is member of the Republican State Central Committee (RSCC) and serves as Vice-Chairwoman of the Louisiana Republican Party, Immediate Past President of Republican Women of St. Charles and is a member and Programs Chairwoman of the Rotary Club of St. Charles. She has been married to her husband, David, for 38 years and has three children and one grandchild.

Stephanie Berault is running for House District 76, which is being vacated by Rep. Robert ‘Bob’ Owen, who is running for Senate District 1. Since 2010, Stephanie has served as the Louisiana Executive Director of the HeartGift Foundation, an organization that provides life-saving congenital heart defect surgery to children in need. She has been active in her community, serving on numerous boards and foundations in leadership roles, and has previously served as the Chair of the St. Tammany Republican Parish Executive Committee. She resides in Slidell with her husband of 28 years and has three children.

Jay Galle is seeking the House District 104 seat being vacated by term-limited Rep. Paul Hollis (R-Covington). A Marine Corps veteran, Jay served in the reserves at Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Jay finished his meteorology studies in 2009 and became the morning and afternoon meteorologist for WDSU. Jay forecasted the weather on Channel 6 for eight years and has worked as a freelance meteorologist since 2019. He currently manages a portfolio of real estate properties.

“As we finalize LABI’s LA23 strategic plan for our state to be an economic leader in the South by 2030, it is critical that we elect legislators who are reform minded and willing to champion bold ideas,” said Andree Miller, LABI’s Political Director. “Louisiana has the opportunity of a generation this fall, and we encourage the business community to support this slate of candidates who are committed to embracing policy initiatives that will better our great state.”
