LABI’s EastPAC Endorses Paul Sawyer for House District 69

February 12, 2026

BATON ROUGE, La. – EastPAC, a political action committee of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), announced its endorsement of Paul Sawyer for House District 69. This House seat became vacant when Rep. Paula Davis resigned late last year. Sawyer has three opponents in the March 14 election to fill the seat.

EastPAC is comprised of entrepreneurs and business leaders from Louisiana’s southwest region who support candidates championing free-market values and economic reforms that stimulate growth and retain families in their community.

“We believe Paul Sawyer has demonstrated the leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit that we need more of in the Louisiana Legislature,” said Scott Oliphant, EastPAC chair.

“Louisiana is still trailing our neighboring states and cannot afford slow progress,” Jim Patterson, Interim Executive Director of Political Action for LABI said. “As a dedicated community leader and small business owner, Paul understands the challenges hardworking men and women face and is committed to creating opportunities that help them thrive. His vision, resilience and dedication make him the advocate we think families and business owners in House District 69 deserve.”

Throughout his career, Sawyer has worked in public service and economic development. He served as chief of staff for former Congressman Garret Graves, where he was actively involved in forming federal legislation, and Sawyer worked at Louisiana Economic Development. He is currently executive director of the Amite River Basin Drainage & Water Conservation District. In addition, he is a small business owner, giving him firsthand experience with taxes, regulations, and job creation.

“I know how to turn conservative principles into real wins,” said Sawyer. “District 69 needs a leader who can hit the ground running to tackle the challenges facing our families. Lowering insurance costs, strengthening the economy, improving infrastructure, reducing crime, and supporting education are directly tied to keeping families and young professionals in our state, and as a legislator, I will make those my priority.”

Sawyer went on to say, “I am honored to receive the endorsement of EastPAC and grateful for their support. Their commitment to pro-business policies aligns with my vision for a stronger Louisiana. I look forward to working alongside the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and other dedicated public servants to champion economic growth, support the next generation of entrepreneurs and create more opportunities for hardworking citizens across our state.”

EastPAC is a non-partisan political action committee comprised of business leaders, community leaders and taxpayers dedicated to recruiting and supporting candidates who champion the principles of free enterprise and create job-growth policies.
