LABI Welcomes New Addition to Advocacy Team

January 11, 2016

BATON ROUGE, LA (January 11, 2016) – The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, the state's chamber of commerce and manufacturing association, today announced the addition of Lauren Chauvin to its advocacy team.

“Lauren is well-versed in many of the business community’s top issues and has proven a record of developing and implementing effective legislative strategies,” says Stephen Waguespack, LABI President. “Her robust knowledge of the Capitol, her contacts and her talent will be of tremendous value to our members and add to the great team already in place.”

Chauvin will serve as leader on civil justice reform, energy and environmental quality policy issues, driving advocacy to achieve LABI’s mission to foster a climate for economic growth by championing the principles of the free enterprise system.

Chauvin brings years of experience advising members of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association (LOGA) as in-house council and governmental affairs director. Prior to joining LOGA, Chauvin served as a page and messenger for Louisiana’s House of Representatives and a senate aide for Sen. Max Malone of Shreveport, who served on the Senate Natural Resource Committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Louisiana State University and received her Juris Doctor and Civil Law diploma from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law School.

Chauvin succeeds Will Green, the former director of LABI’s Civil Justice Reform and Employee Relations Councils.

“We are honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Will for the last two legislative sessions and congratulate him on his great opportunity. On behalf of LABI and our member companies, we thank him for his fantastic service to the Louisiana business community,” says Waguespack.

Jim Patterson, LABI vice president of government relations, will now manage LABI’s employee relations advocacy efforts.
