Honorees: The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry announced the 10 companies and individuals it has selected as the 2019 Free Enterprise Awards winners. Individual winners include Art Favre of Performance Contractors Inc., Donna Saurage of Community Coffee Company—both of Baton Rouge—as well as Scott, Steven and Paul Ballard of  Ballard Brands and Friday Ellis of Governors Cigar & Pipe. Company or organization winners include Baton Rouge-based Community Coffee Company and Emergent Method, along with Crest Industries, Kennedy Rice Mill, Greater New Orleans, Inc and American Sugar Cane League. The winners will be formally recognized at a reception in September. LABI has more information.

At the docks: American Cruise Lines’ American Harmony took its inaugural cruise on the Mississippi River this weekend and is the newest ship in the line of five riverboats holding up to 180 passengers, Visit Baton Rouge announced. The American Harmony will dock in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, August 21 for two days. In addition to the American Harmony adding stops in Baton Rouge, the American Queen Steamboat company will add the American Countess to its fleet and make stops in Baton Rouge beginning in 2020.

Pledging: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana President and CEO I. Steven Udvarhelyi on Tuesday joined nearly 700 other CEOs in signing a CEO Action Pledge for Diversity & Inclusion at Blue Cross headquarters, as part of the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion initiative, the company announced. The initiative, which marked its second anniversary in June, is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
