BATON ROUGE, LA (October 13, 2018) – Attendees at the 2019 Louisiana Association of Business and Industry’s (LABI) Annual Meeting in February will be treated to a double dose of star speakers as the organization kicks off a pivotal year of action in Louisiana. Ticket sales open October 1 for the meeting, which will feature author and pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson and unconventional marketing expert Scott Stratten.
“In a historic election year for state and local offices, and in a time when so much is at stake for the future of free enterprise in Louisiana, we’re inviting our members to ‘Engage’ in 2019,” said LABI President and CEO Stephen Waguespack. “Whether it’s engaging your elected officials, engaging with your customers in a new way, engaging in your community or engaging in new ideas to solve old problems, we hope our members see us as their source of engagement.”
“Our dual-keynote speakers are a perfect example of that engagement – both sharing critical, timely intuition with business leaders and voters across Louisiana,” Waguespack continued. “Voter trend expert Kristen Soltis Anderson will give us her keen insight in a political year of change in Louisiana, and marketing industry innovator Scott Stratten will challenge what we think we know about reaching and truly serving customers.”
LABI’s morning keynote speaker, Kristen Soltis Anderson is the author of The Selfie Vote: Where Millennials Are Leading America. She is a pollster and co-founder of Echelon Insights, a research and analytics firm. She was one of TIME’s “30 Under 30 Changing the World” and has been featured as one of ELLE’s 2016 “Most Compelling Women in Washington.”
Anderson is an ABC News political contributor, a columnist at The Washington Examiner, and is the co-host of The Pollsters, a bipartisan weekly podcast. She regularly appears on programs such as Morning Joe, Fox News Sunday, Real Time With Bill Maher and more. In 2014, Anderson was a Resident Fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics. Her research on millennial attitudes has been featured in The New York Times Magazine and she regularly speaks to audiences of corporate leaders and public officials about how to reach the millennial generation.
Un-Marketing President Scott Stratten will deliver the luncheon keynote, in his high-energy, interactive and entertaining style of challenging traditional business outreach methods. The ultimate sales and marketing truth slayer, Scott helps organizations see their business through a new lens with his unconventional “unmarketing” views and vanguard approach to building and maintaining real customer relationships.
Stratten has transformed how corporations like PepsiCo, Century 21, Fidelity and Microsoft do business with radical insights on how to engage better with customers through social and viral marketing. Named a top 5 social media power influencer by Forbes.com, Scott elevates the conversation by putting the focus back on what matters most to current and potential buyers, values like trust, authenticity, relationships and service. In 2018, Scott was inducted into the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame.
