LABI Statement on Louisiana’s Energy Future

October 6, 2025

BATON ROUGE, La. The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) released the following statement on behalf of President and CEO Will Green.

“The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry supports an all-of-the-above energy approach, leveraging our state’s unique geology and experienced workforce. This includes capitalizing on the economic benefits of carbon capture and sequestration.

“Analyses consistently show these projects generate hundreds of millions of dollars in resident income and millions in local tax revenues, providing much-needed investment and sustainable growth for Louisiana communities. Opposition or added uncertainty surrounding these projects risks forfeiting substantial opportunities that will strengthen local economies for years to come.

“LABI encourages all parish leaders to focus on the facts, not rhetoric from anti-business, out-of-state activist groups intent on preserving the status quo, and to weigh the long-term economic health of their communities. Rejecting CCS could mean turning away jobs, growth, innovation and the chance to secure a stronger future for Louisiana.”
