Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry released the following statement in response to the yesterday’s FTC’s announcement banning all noncompete agreements.

“This ban is governmental overreach – plain and simple,” said LABI President and CEO Will Green. “While the decision to enact a blanket ban on all noncompete agreements will be immediately challenged in court, it should have never been created in the first place. The FTC believes it knows what is best for businesses and employees in Louisiana and across the country. That could not be further from the truth. Unfortunately, it’s up to the legal system to invalidate this misguided rule, and LABI will track these efforts.”
