LABI Partners with FUEL to Expand Energy Workforce Pathways Across Louisiana

On Tuesday, the Future Use of Energy in Louisiana (FUEL) initiative, led by LSU, announced a $45million funding renewal from theNational Science Foundation to advance energy innovation and workforce development across the state. As part of this renewed effort, the LABI Foundation is partnering with FUEL to increase industry engagement and boost internships and apprenticeships in the energy sector, giving Louisiana businesses the tools to expand existing programs or launch new work‑based learning opportunities.

This supports LABI’s ongoing advocacy for stronger connections between education and careers, including a new K‑12 accountability formula that encourages early exposure to industry pathways. It also furthers a key LABI priority—expanding Louisiana’s energy dominance.

“By connecting students with real-world experience in Louisiana’s energy sector, we are building a stronger talent pipeline and opening doors to high-wage, high-demand careers right here at home. LABI is proud to play a prominent role in connecting students, schools and businesses to make these opportunities a reality.”
