As the 2026 Legislative Session got underway, LABI was engaged just a few blocks away, hosting various events at 5th & Main.
The week kicked off with our annual Back to Business celebration—welcoming legislators, members, partners and stakeholders back to Baton Rouge and the Capitol. It was a great turnout with lots of meaningful conversations.
Throughout the week, most of LABI’s Issue Councils—made up of members—met to discuss policy priorities and bill positions for the upcoming session. LABI’s members are directly involved in determining how the organization will advocate on pieces of legislation. These members come from all different industries, background and areas of the state.
On Wednesday, LABI’s four PACs, along with the PACs for the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, Associated Builders and Contactors, Louisiana Realtors Association, Louisiana Home Builders Association, Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, Louisiana Chemistry Association and Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association hosted a fundraiser for Judge William “Billy” Burris as he campaigns for the Louisiana Supreme Court. We appreciate everyone who came in support of his candidacy.

Later that evening, LABI hosted the Jefferson Chamber for its annual Evening at the Legislature. LABI’s Will Green spoke to nearly 100 attendees about our priorities and vision for Louisiana.

The Jefferson Chamber is one of the most active and engaged chambers in the state, and a tremendous partner—not just during the legislative session, but year-round—as we work together to strengthen Louisiana’s economy and create more opportunity across our communities.
